Edinburgh Square Class
Today I had the pleasure of teaching the Edinburgh Square quilt to a group of ladies from the Village Quilters guild. Thank you friends for attending! I enjoyed meeting each of you and hopefully you enjoyed the class. I am really looking forward to seeing your finished quilts. In the meantime, I thought I'd share a few quilts from the same pattern that were made by some of the quilters in our Threads of Love Quilting group.
I love the creativity of some of the students -- changing the background to a dark.....
...adding contrasting binding.....
...and this one - she made the background of each square a different color that coordinates with her print.
Here is the original I made that was accepted by McCall's.
..and then the queen size that was published...
..and lastly, I had this idea of mixing up the colors in each block. Didn't turn out quite like I hoped, but live and learn!
I hope you are busily settled into an air conditioned room and stitching on these dry hot summer days. Classes are great for that. I'm curious, do you enjoy classes or do you prefer to learn on your own with books or online tutorials?
