It's finished! I've been working on this one since last fall. It has been lesson in patience. The hubby's favorite color is yellow and since I had few quilts that fit our king size bed, I thought it would be nice to make one for spring. Picture overload, sorry. I am so happy to have this done! And since I loosely followed Eleanor Burn's Irish chain pattern, this one won't be shipping off anywhere.
I used the Calliope pantograph. It was a new one for me, and I did enjoy it. However, the quilt being 95 x 105, it took almost 13 bobbins of thread and nearly a whole spool.
I love the backing as much as the front. It is Carrie Bloomston's Newsprint fabric by Windham.
It wasn't without some drama. Measure twice, cut once. Guess I was a little distracted when cutting the batting. Thank goodness for HEAT PRESS! Knew that stuff would come in handy one day. Like I always say, just about anything can be corrected in a quilt.
So, it is finally finished and I am very happy with it. Enjoy some more pictures.
Finally, one of my sweet daughter-in-love and the two grand children. They were able to make a trip to see Stonehenge a few days ago. I leave on Friday for a visit with them while they are in England.
I am already thinking of names of new quilt designs. My son has had a part time job at Cambridge University for several weeks. I've got to design something to commemorate his time there. Cambridge Crossings? Stonehenge Shadows? I've got some ideas percolating. Stay tuned.
