Convex Illusions

Pattern and kit by Kathleen Andrews of purchased at the Spring Paducah quilt show. For me this was a challenging pattern. My Janome needle doesn't adjust, so sometimes I have trouble with the 1/4" seam, which was imperative for this pattern. I tried really hard to get it right. It is imperfect, but the effect is still awesome and I do love it!

The center quilting was the toughest. All those little seams caused some bumps and wiggles in the center section, and some fullness in that part, so there may or may not be a few tiny folds in the backing :/ although the stippling and straight lines were some of my best. Still, I find it fascinating and am glad I made it. I like a little contemporary to my collection of quilts.

Would you try one of these? The designer has others with the 3D effect. So cool.

Thanks for visiting!
