A Builder's Quilt
I made this quilt a few weeks ago as it seemed the perfect gift for our sweet contractors who are building our dream home. I was able to incorporate their logo in the label. I found several free 'house' quilt patterns online, picked one, and adapted it a bit.
I used an oak leaf pantograph for the quilting. And it's always nice when you can pull from your stash for the fabrics.
I really like the gray tweed looking fabric, and had not found a project for it until this quilt. It seemed perfect for the roofs.
The hubby insisted I use flannel for the backing so it would be soft and cuddly. He loves his flannel quilts.
I think they were very pleased with their Christmas gift!
As you can see the new house isn't finished yet, but we are making great progress. The plan is to move in January. Our current home went on the MLS market for sale December 10th. We are hoping for a buyer who will love the home as much as we have.
And since it's December......this was our only Christmas decoration, a quilt, but I love it so much! I used Kate Spain's pattern Felicity and was inspired by Heather Mulder Peterson's version with the black chains. I adapted the ornaments and size for our king bed.
Did you making any Christmas quilts this season? I'd love to see them!
