Not sure what has gotten into me lately, but I've got FOUR quilting projects planned. None of these are my own designs. I've recently ordered the kits for Stars and Stripes and Grace, both designed by Thimbleblossoms. I love the Bonnie and Camille fabric lines. Also ordered a couple of fat quarter bundles in reds/pinks (called Lipstick) and blues/greens (called Equador) of Kaffe Facett and three bundles of low volume prints to go with those. I have in mind to make two identical quilts, but in different color ways for the two upstairs bedrooms, or the twin beds. Started the red one yesterday. I am using Little Miss Sawtooth pattern. Progress so far.....
I did a really careless thing when cutting and sewing the flying geese. I cut the squares 7 1/2" and they should be 7 1/4". I couldn't figure out why my flying geese weren't coming out right. I finally figured it out, but only after I had already made a bunch of them. Did I take them apart and re-do? No way. I'll make them work and they will be fine.
I've made enough quilting mistakes over the years to be able to adjust what is wrong, or live with it. Are the points all going to be perfect? Nope, but I'm ok with that. I've said often, I am not a perfectionist, so my quilts will never be entered in shows (unless the design is something I think people might like to see). My work is 'good enough' and I'm ok with that. :) I know too many quilters who really stress with perfection. I do it for the enjoyment of creating. Can't wait to see how this one turns out. My color ways are a bit darker than most I've seen in this pattern, and I don't know if that is a good thing or not. I"ll post when finished. So, come back and visit in a week or two.
